Angie and I knew what to expect for the Heroes panel: absolute craziness.

We woke up extremely early in the morning to grab some coffee and a light breakfast, and head over two and a half hours before the panel was to begin… and already, the line was almost completely wrapped around the convention center for people wanting to be in Hall H (where the Heroes, LOST, Terminator: Salvation, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer and Death Race, Underworld, Quarantine, and Pineapple Express panels were all in)! We hopped in line and sat ourselves on the concrete, waiting for doors to open and waiting on our friend Andy.

At least the weather was perfect with a nice breeze, so honestly, the crazy wait wasn’t bad at all. It gave me time to collect thoughts and work on my Lost Boys 2 review some of you have asked for.

When doors finally opened, 6,000 of us piled into Hall H for the Heroes panel to begin with the full cast and crew. They showed us the premiere episode of the new season (Heroes: Villains)… which looks sic! Thank you Tim Kring for bringing back the awesomeness of these stories!

I also genuinely loved the fact that Kring admitted he screwed up Season 2. You don’t find that kind of honesty in showbiz anymore.

What I hated most about the panel was the handful of idiots during the Q&A who were doing nothing but wasting everyone’s time.

For example, the lady who went up and asked for Milo Ventimiglia (who plays Peter Petrelli on the show) for a hug and a photo– aka a personal favor that the convention specifically asks you NOT to do. Plus, it’s just disrespectful for everyone (cast, crew, AND fans).

…Or the guy who went up, admitting he hasn’t even seen the first two seasons, and asked them to summarize it all for him.

C’mon… really? Are you kidding me?!

Ugh.

Afterwards, Angie and Andy stuck around for the next panel and I parted ways to go browse the exhibit hall once more. I ended up purchasing quite a few graphic novels I had been looking for for 70% off, such as Neil Gaiman’s Coraline (I own the actual novel, but hadn’t found the graphic novel yet) and Mr. Punch… Sam Keith’s The Maxx (volume 3)… Tomb Raider, Lodoss War, and something else that I had never heard of before, but it looked interesting and was on sale, so why not check it out?

Eventually, I met back up with Angie, dropped a friend off at the Grant Morrison/Gerard Way panel, met up with another one of Angie’s friends, then went to grab some grub before we starved to death.

We spent the last part of the evening finishing browsing and making our rounds to say goodbye to our friends working the convention… where I finally found one of the people I was looking for that I hadn’t found yet: Pearry Teo, who was there for his comic DNA Hacker Chronicles. We talked a little bit of business, but mostly just caught up on our lives. It had been a while.

Then it was time to start the trek back home.

Overall, I had a blast at the convention. I am tired as all hell, though. Honestly, at this point, I was too tired to take a bunch of photos for Day 3… but I will leave you with this:
