"Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try."

So I know I have been saying this for quite some time now– that I want to get back into drawing and painting, but just recently, I have set out the time to take the necessary actions in actually doing so.

I dug up a bunch of old art supplies I had laying around, as well as buy some new ones, and started working on sketches. I figure I will start with sketching from others’ work first again just to try to get myself back into the groove of things:

(This is a sketch I did the other day of Sam Keith’s The Maxx. Yes, I do realize I made a few mistakes, but as I said, I’m just practicing to get back into the swing of things.)

(The beginning stages of a colored-sketch of Skywise from Elfquest. You can find an old black and white sketch in the “Artwork > Sketches” section. I plan to finish the basic work with colored chalk, and the final coloring and shading in soft pastels.)
