Happy Labor Day weekend!

Ahoy there!
Well… I hope everyone’s weekend has been a lot better than mine!
Not quite sure how it happened. I was perfectly fine all day and night on Thursday. I woke up Friday morning, not feeling the greatest… and it only got worse the more time that went by.
So I’ve been battling a jumping fever (between 99.5 and 101) all weekend.
Needless to say, this sucks.
Hopefully I shall return and be back in action soon!
P.S…. Thanks to everyone who have been emailing me and/or messaging me on MySpace with the well wishes.

A small rant on soliciters…

First of all, whoever had one of my phone numbers before me, I would just like to say that I hope I never meet you. I might smack you across the face.
Whoever this was apparently owes a lot of companies a lot of money to the point where they keep calling ME, trying to collect debt.
Now, I have had this problem before. I usually end up having my lawyer make the final call.
This week, yet another “debt collection agency” has been harassing me continuously, even after I, again, have requested numerous times to take my number off of the list because I am not the person they are looking for nor do I know her.
They called me again early [...]

From Diet Coke & Mentos to Sticky Notes!

It’s been a few days since I’ve written anything. My apologies… I got called in for a new project due next week and as always– so much to do, so little time.
Anyway, remember the guys who brought you the Diet Coke and Mentos experiments?
(If you don’t, here’s one of the many videos:)

Here’s a sneak peek at what they’ve been up to lately:

Stay tuned…!

Cà phê sữa

Ah, sữa. One of my favorite tasty treats that I am currently enjoying right at this very moment!

For those who don’t know what it is, sữa is Vietnamese coffee. It’s basically a type of black roasted coffee and sweetened condensed milk… and it is oh so good.
And now that I have shared this small little blurb with you all, it’s time to go back to relaxing and re-watching the second season of Dexter.

“Cry Little Sister”

So from what I’ve heard, I missed one hell of a time at Monster Mania on the east coast over the weekend.
Here is a video of Gerard’s acoustic performance of his legendary song from the convention that someone had posted:

While I’m on the topic, I decided to compile a handful of videos of other versions of the song for your audio and video pleasure:
G Tom Mac – Video for the 2008 Cave Club remix:

G Tom Mac (Rebel Angel Mix):

Ventana live:

Blutengel’s version (not an actual music video):

Carfax Abbey live:

Sisters of Mercy (Club Mix; not actual music video):

Zug Izland’s version (not an actual music video, slightly different lyrics):

Now if only the Rikets boys would put their version online already (because I am [...]

Devil’s Orchestra

Hit up the Devil’s Orchestra show last night at Cinespace in Hollywood.
For those in town who haven’t heard of the “new” Camerata Sunday nights at Cinespace, it’s basically a night of music and art. The openers vary, and the night always ends with instrumental metal music from the boys of Devil’s Orchestra. Along with having a different artist display his or her artwork around the venue, during their set, they always have someone doing a live painting.
The main artist is usually the wonderfully talented Christopher Cuseo.
Last night, my friend Joe/Thrashbird filled in:

(Joey ended up also painting on someone’s vest)
And for the final product…

Be sure to check out The Devil’s Orchestra at www.myspace.com/thedevilsorchestra!

Red, White, & Blue Summer Oasis

Saturday afternoon, Angie and I stopped by the Red, White, & Blue Summer Oasis, presented by Declare Yourself.
It was a pretty cool private event up in the Hollywood Hills, held at a big fancy estate.
(The estate’s infinity pool and view of Los Angeles)
VIP gifting upstairs, then some other gifting on the lower level. I picked up some facial and skin care samples… and somewhere in there ended up with $200 gift certificates for laser hair removal, gift certificates for free tans, and gift certificates for yoga/spinning/personal training stuff. Oh, and somewhere in there, ended up with a free facial tanning kit which I ended up giving to my friend’s wife because, well, I don’t think I really need a tan, [...]

Declare Yourself!

Good morning, readers!

Today I will be attending a Declare Yourself event in Los Angeles!
For those who aren’t familiar with Declare Yourself, they are a non-profit campaign not to tell you who to vote for, but to raise awareness about voting and the election in general… and to encourage everyone to register to vote in the presidential election.
You can check them out at their website: www.declareyourself.com!
