All hail the new Queen!

Despite, you know, discovering that her ex-boyfriend is a scumbag, things are looking up for Anne Hathaway.

Her film, Rachel Getting Married, is surrounded in Oscar buzz, her guest appearance on SNL on Saturday elicited more than just a few giggles, and now she’s just scored a role in one of the most anticipated films currently in production.

Hathaway joins Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp in Tim Burton‘s live-action-slash-CGI retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland. She will be playing the White Queen opposite Carter’s decapitation-happy Red Queen.

So far this movie sounds amazing, with a fabulous cast headed by a fabulous director. The CGI thing makes us a little nervous, but we’re willing to put our faith in Burton’s vision.

He’s got a good track record!
