So tomorrow, I leave my hometown to start my trek with Mom back West… and guess who still hasn’t packed?
When I originally planned my two month visit to my family, I had all of these plans to pack ahead of time. Now, some of you may be asking, what could you possibly have to pack so much for other than what you brought in the first place?
In case you haven’t caught on yet, Mom and I are driving back to Los Angeles… and I am taking full advantage of the car space by intending on bringing back loads of old books, comics, and who knows what else back to L.A. with me.
I’ve gotten about as far as just piling things on my floor and bed. I know I meant to look for some boxes to store the comics in… it just hasn’t actually happened yet, haha.
I also realized that, as backwards as it may seem, I think I have a lot more of my focus and motivation on things when I’m back home in L.A. For example, anyone remember when I had the plan to jog every day while I’m at home because we have the best neighborhood to do it? Yeahhhh… that happened ONCE… where, in Hollywood, lately I’ve found myself waking up early every morning to go walking/jogging to my favorite area and back.
Perhaps my parents’ house is too comfortable… but I’m not going to say I didn’t enjoy it. Every now and then, I need a break from my 24/7-busy life… and this was a good one. It was no Bahamas vacation with my best friend, but it was some quality time with my family that I haven’t really had in two years… plus no one can argue with homecooked meals and free laundry.
At some point tonight, I will finally finish packing, then tomorrow early morning, Mom and I head to St. Louis. We’ll stop by a mall or two to kill some time, grab food, check out new phones and whatnot… then I’ll head over to Pop’s to see my friends in Mushroomhead. Pretty stoked on it, too. It’s been far too long…
Mom and I will stay in the city for the night, in time to see my wonderful Jeffree Star, Miss E, and Cheyne on the 23rd at some place called Fubar. Hrm. Now that I think about it, I should probably look up directions now before I forget and I end up getting the two of us lost.
Right after Jeffree’s show, it’s pulling an all-nighter with Mom and heading for the West Coast. We will arrive in Las Vegas on the 25th, and enjoy some wonderful VIP treatment courtesy of both Venitian and Mirage up until the 30th. Halfway through, my father is flying out to join us, and we will be in Los Angeles on Halloween.
Since I will be hanging out with my parents in L.A. for the day, I consider myself exempt from having to think of a costume. We’ll have lunch and dinner with some of my friends who miss Mom, and have never met Dad before…
November 1st and 2nd, I’ll be in San Diego, visiting relatives and friends… and stuffing my face with oysters. Then it’s back to L.A. for me…
I miss my friends… I miss my eateries… I miss the office, even though it always feels like Antarctica…
I guess I should stop stalling and go back to attempting to pack.
….but wait… what’s this? Warcraft is back up and running, eh…?
OH… ALSO… My thoughts to the Kill Hannah boys whose bus caught on fire and burnt down! So glad you boys are ok!
