I honestly LOVE it!
I’ve heard people complain about the design of the device, and although it’s not as shiek as the iPhone or newest Blackberries, it’s not really ugly. I personally don’t think so, anyway.
So far, mine has been functioning perfectly. The apps are FREE, which is always nice. Camera quality beats the kick and berry. GPS and Google Maps with street view… and also what’s called “Compass View” (like Street View, but the rotation of the images follows the movement of your phone. It’s pretty neat). There are apps that will scan barcodes of products and pop up a list of nearby stores selling the same or similar products and for how much… among a few other really neat features.
I think my only [minor] complaint about the G1 is that the AIM client isn’t the greatest, but no real biggie… Plus it’s nothing that a future update patch couldn’t fix.
