Okay, so I am one of those people who usually hate spiders. I admit, I am a pretty big wuss when it comes to these guys. Even the tiniest of spiders freak me the hell out.
However, as I was watching Microcosmos the other night, I was reminded of this particular type of spider:
Although still creepy… and I would still never want to come across one myself ever again, I forgot how interesting they actually are.
These guys can breathe and live underwater, staying away from their predators on the terrain. Instead of spinning regular silk webs like most other spiders, these guys are able to form these plasticy, silky, air bubbles on the surface of the water that they can use for everything: their living quarters, breeding grounds, and they also use them to feed.
