Another interesting article regarding the Disney/Marvel merger hoopla:
Following up on the Disney acquisition of Marvel, I attended this morning’s investor call. A full transcript is supposed to be available later today; in the meantime, here are some quick notes I took. I apologize in advance if there are any glitches; I was trying to type very fast to take down statements.
The call was opened by Lowell Singer, Disney’s SVP of Investor Relations. Bob Iger, President and CEO of Disney, began with prepared remarks. Several times, Marvel’s portfolio of “over 5000 characters” was mentioned as having potential value for development. Terms like “value”, “leverage”, and “revenue synergies” were used frequently. Disney expects that “synergies over time will drive value creation”, that [...]

Beach camping, here I come!
I have been looking forward to this day for quite some time. I have been itching to get myself back to Hawaii, but realistically (especially now that I am fulltime at my job), that most likely won’t be happening until my birthday next year. Since I can’t have Hawaii for the time being, I’ve been itching for any beach scenario, really. There’s nothing like digging my toes in the sand and finding my peace there while listening to ocean waves crash.
Karri decided we needed to return to this spot– we actually camped there together back in 2005 not too long after I first met her. I agreed. We started inviting a handful of our friends… and voila! We’ve got a [...]
I know I’m a bit early on this, but…
…it already has me excited.
“It” being Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. There is one in both Los Angeles and Orlando. Karri, her hubby, Elissa, and I all went together a couple of years ago on the actual holiday and had a blast! That year, that had something that catered to each of our (well, the girls anyway) fears: a Freddy Krueger maze for Karri, a Jason Vorhees maze for Elissa, and a Leatherface maze for me.
Of course, Elissa decided to make it a point to send every dude with a chainsaw after me that night: “Pssst… go get my friend! She’s terrified of chainsaws!”
We weren’t able to make it last year, but Karri and I have mentioned a few [...]

Full Story »Video premiere of Five Finger Death Punch’s “Hard to See”
A cemetery? Tombstones? Dudes in fedoras and capes? Open graves? Guys with epic beards and dreads, rocking out like true badasses? Why it must be a metal video, right? Well, it’s Five Finger Death Punch’s new clip for ‘Hard to See,’ the lead single of the band’s forthcoming LP, ‘War is the Answer,’ which bombards record stores Sept. 22. Noisecreep is honored to be bringing you the world premiere of the video, helmed and conceptualized by Matt Silverman. And we actually spoke yesterday with drummer Jeremy Spencer about what went down during the black snot-producing shoot.
The video opens with Five Finger frontman Ivan Moody inexplicably standing at the edge of an open grave. Is he a gravedigger? Is this hole [...]
