Now that I’ve had a chance to listen to Last Night’s Vice’s debut album a little more thoroughly now, I figured I owed it another post that doesn’t involve copy and pasting the press release.

I don’t really keep it a secret that I’ve been burnt on music lately. I stopped keeping in touch with that world when I left it two years ago, and my recent playlists mostly include old music I used to love and adore, with occasional new poppy things and new tracks from my coworker’s band. Other than that, I have been out of the loop and staying out– sometimes intentionally, and sometimes I’m just too busy in my new world to sift through the press releases in my inbox.

However, the other day I received a press release at the perfect time– for once, I wasn’t too busy trying to handle a fire drill. The first thing that caught my eye was “St. Louis, Missouri,” one of my old stomping grounds. Next, I noticed that it wasn’t just a typical press release of text and hyperlinks, but there was a zip file attached of a complete full album that has yet to be released.

So I gave it a shot…. and I realized that I now have a gem in my hands (er… hard drive). In some ways, they remind me of a bit of Head Automatica and a bit of National Product– and that’s definitely not a bad thing. In fact, it’s something I’ve missed for quite some time now.

Perfect Little Noise is an album that I can listen to on the road heading into the sunset, top down. It is something I can add to my workout playlists. It’s something I can blare from my living room as I clean my apartment. It’s something I can put on repeat at work to help keep me upbeat and productive.

Perfect Little Noise will be available August 31st, 2010. Follow them on Twitter, become a fan of them on Facebook, or befriend them on good ol’ MySpace.
