In the background are basic computer-generated models representing set pieces that have not yet been given final texture or color. © Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
ALICE IN WONDERLAND Progression still 2 of 3. A number of techniques were created to allow the animators at Imageworks to place the photography of Cirspin Glover’s (Stayne) head onto a fully computer-generated body. © Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
ALICE IN WONDERLAND Final Film Frame. Progression still 3 of 3. In the final composite of the scene, the green-screen footage of Stayne’s head is incorporated into the fully computer-generated body and environment, lighting is color corrected and finalized, and the surfaces spring to life when given texture, shadows, and reflections. © Disney Enterprises, Inc. Progression still 2 of 4. The scene moves to animation, where the character is dropped into a low-resolution environment–the images are kept low-res to allow Imageworks’ animators to create the Cat’s performance without having a lot of data to manipulate. © Disney Enterprises, Inc. Progressions still 3 of 4. The biggest challenge is to create ar ealistic cat that can generate the trademark exaggerated grin. Here, the all-important hair has been added, ensuring it behaves as it should, where it should be, with the Cat now curled on his limb. © Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
