How sad.
80s Teen Idol Corey Haim Dead at 38
LOS ANGELES — Actor and former teen idol Corey Haim has died at the age of 38, the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed to KTLA.
Haim died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday of an apparent accidental overdose, according to the LAPD’s North Hollywood Division.
Coroner’s Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said an autopsy would determine an official cause of death.
Haim was found unresponsive sometime before 2 a.m. inside a unit at the Oakwood Apartment Complex, located between Burbank and the Hollywood Hills, police said.
He was at home with his mother at the time.
TMZ is reporting that Haim had been sick over the last couple of days with flu-like symptoms and collapsed in front of his mother after getting out of bed. Four prescription bottles, not related to his illness, were reportedly found inside the apartment.
The Canadian-born actor, who has struggled with drug addiction, was pronounced dead Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, police said.
Haim became a teen heartthrob in the 80s after appearing in the 1986 film “Lucas” and 1987’s “The Lost Boys,” which also starred fellow teen idol Corey Feldman.
Both actors appeared together on the A&E show “The Two Coreys,” which aired from 2007 [...]

So it was recently announced that Warner has given the go-ahead on the creation of Lost Boys 3…. and in the words of my buddy G:
“For those wondering, Dario Piana will direct the new “Lost Boys 3 – The Thirst” written by Evan Charnov…. And of course it’s made to go straight to DVD again. Check please!”
…Sigh. After the flop of the second movie, why couldn’t they just leave it alone?
While I am on this sort of topic, I would just like to state, again, how pissed I am that they’re trying to remake The Crow. Allow me to summarize things for you:
The Crow – Awesome classic with a great soundtrack, as well as great score.
The Crow: City of Angels – Alright for a sequel. Mia Kirshner was the highlight, along with some of the imagery. The soundtrack was alright, as well. Score wasn’t as good as the original, but still awesome. Go Graeme Revell!
The Crow: Stairway to Heaven (THE SHOW) – SUCKED BALLS.
The Crow: Salvation – Sucked, sucked, and… oh yeah! SUCKED.
The Crow: Wicked Prayer – Okay, first of all, here’s the cast: David Boreanaz, Tara Reid, and EDDIE FURLONG. Do I really need to go on? Oh, and [...]

So… Anyone remember when I said I was starting to feel better? Apparently it bit me in the ass and I’ve been sick again at full force. I don’t even think I’d wish this plague on my enemies.
Anyway, even through sickness and pain, here I am, attempting to get work done, some of which should have been done weeks ago before I felt ill.
While I wait on approvals, I figured I’d blog a bit to make up for the past couple of days.
** In case it slipped your mind, you only have a week left to see Coraline 3D before the 3D theaters turn over to the Jonas Brothers! As I’ve stated before, although Coraline is pleasant either way, the 3D version is a whole new experience and definitely worth viewing at least once while you can! Put it this way… my friend Taylor had no desire to see the film in any way, shape, or form, no matter how much I raved on about it [that he passed on as a bias for me being a big Gaiman fan]… or how many times mutual friends [who weren't big Gaiman fans or didn't know who he even was] were raving [...]

So my buddy Gerard has been working a lot with Corey Haim lately on his recovery.
The recently did another podcast with Zack Daggy and “The Shameless Plugcast” that can be found here to listen to what they’ve been up to together and individually, as well as a clip of the song they worked on together.
I also have this little treat for you:

…Well, maybe not that massive, but more of a post of compiled subjects for the one who keeps complaining about my multiple posts (which turn into tweets that turn into Facebook status updates) a day. Although, I will say, this “compiling posts into one major post” thing will not last for me. In fact, this may be the only time you will see this from me because, honestly, I personally thoroughly enjoy my multiple posts.
This composition practice may be out of boredom with a slight hint of late night laziness.
Anyway.
I went out to The Derby last night in Los Feliz to support my buddy Tad’s band, Broken Ocean. There was an open bar and I won’t lie to you, I had a couple of drinks to take advantage of it. However, I rarely drink anymore, so needless to say, my tolerance is back to the low levels and two screwdrivers did it for me. Upon my return home, I ended up falling into my comfy bed. I had decided it might better for me to just stay put and doze off instead of standing back up in the now spinning room.
To my surprise, I was wide awake by 6:30 AM [...]
