New Home, Here I Come!

It’s a new year, and great things are happening. Late last year, I was looking into new places and found some dream homes that weren’t so dreamy once I looked at them in person. However, this time ’round, I have fallen in love with another place that I was quite pleased with when I checked it out for myself.
Later this month, I will be moving into a one-bedroom apartment (with a loft!) in a much nicer, more pleasant area:

The complex is completely secured and has some beautiful amenities:
- pool
- sauna
- 3 hot tubs
- 2-story gym
- BBQ pits
- laundry rooms
- raquetball courts
It is also across the street from a pretty park with a running track in case I want to do [...]

One Night in Los Angeles…

So with Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving weekend, and one hell of a busy week at work, I haven’t had the chance to write about this until now.
One night last week, I was at my best friend and her husband’s house, and they were telling me how they were interested in getting into professional photography and had picked up a beautiful Nikon D3000 from Samy’s– and how the store had some killer deals I may be interested in. I’ve actually been due for an upgrade for years now, but just never really had the funds set aside for it until now. As I played with the 3000, I fell more and more in love. Plus, I’ve been really excited to now have someone [...]

Treating myself to a new home this season.

After all of my hard work, this season I’ve decided to do something great for myself for a change. I decided that I’m moving into a new home. I have three options that I plan to check out in person this weekend. All luxery apartments with great amenities because, well, I’ve earned it.
Option 1:
1-bedroom/1-bathroom. Granite countertops. Carpet and tile. Washer/dryer in unit. Pool. Spa. Sauna. 24-hour gym. Concierge. Sundeck.

Option 2:
1-bedroom/1-bathroom + 1 loft. Carpet & tile. Pool. Sauna. Gym. Laundry on site.
I couldn’t find a floorplan online, so here’s a photo of the cool spiral staircase that goes up to the loft instead:

Option 3:
1-bedroom/1-bathroom. Carpet & tile. Pool. Sauna. Gym. Washer/dryer in unit. Cafe. Business Center.

A weekend of vampires and cops and gloom, oh my!

Friday I started my weekend with the first day of Vampire-Con at the New Beverly Cinema. My dear friend G (aka G Tom Mac/Gerard McMann) invited me out with him for The Lost Boys part of it. Considering I grew up loving that flick, and the fact that he and I haven’t seen each other in who knows how long because both of our schedules have become so ridiculously jam-packed, of course I accepted the invite.

I met up with him, Paolo Cascio (who shot G’s recent video of “Cry Little Sister (True Blood version)”), and eventually Billy Wirth (who played Dwayne, one of the Lost Boys in the cult classic). Q&A with G and Billy, then on to the premiere [...]

The Lost Boys at Vampire-Con 2009

So tomorrow (Friday, August 14, 2009) is the first night of Vampire-Con’s Vampire Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA. Beginning at 9:30 PM will be a Q&A with some of the cast of The Lost Boys (as well as my dear friend G Tom Mac/Gerard McMann, original singer/songwriter for the theme song, “Cry Little Sister”), a screening of the original flick, as well as the video premiere of G’s recent True Blood version of “Cry Little Sister!”
I might be crawling out of my cave tomorrow for this… but regardless, it’s something worth checking out!

The Orochon Ramen Challenge

f. myself, Rami Dearest, Sean Pressler, and Lee Christophers!
As some of you know, last weekend, a handful of my friends/coworkers and I tried the Orochon Ramen challenge last weekend.
Basically, this place is known to have THE spiciest bowl of ramen IN THE WORLD. It was featured on Man Vs. Food… and out of hundreds of thousands of people, only 200 were able to finish it. Look it up. Trust me.
Anyway, here is video footage from it:

Short story time: The Emmy afterparty 2007

So I was digging through a bunch of my old video files, and stumbled upon this clip from 2007. Nothing spectacular, but I figured I’d share it anyway.
When Angie GoGo and I were living together and I was on a kick to go out and party all the freakin’ time, we (and a couple of friends) hit up TV Guide’s post-Emmy party in Hollywood with “surprise” performances by John Legend and Kanye West.

I actually don’t remember all too much about that night. Partially because I drank quite a bit, and partially because, honestly, other than the musical performances, nothing was really worth remembering to me. Oh yeah, free food is always nice.
