Before I left Machinima, Ricky attacked me with a camera for an episode of “The Kill Feed”. I shared my thoughts on Christmas.

In case you missed my retweet the other day (or aren’t on Twitter at all), Tyler Curtis (aka Tyliner) of DarkroomDemons.com snapped this shot of me while I was visiting Chicago recently.

Aside from publicly calling me out for missing the Kill Hannah show by a day, he also wrote some kind words about me to feed my ego here.

Oh, and other than the gloves, boots, and purse… I’m sporting all Skingraft!

I flew into Chicago over the weekend to visit some friends and catch the last show on Five Finger Death Punch’s Share The Welt tour. As I sit here at the airport, editing and resizing photos while I wait on my flight, I thought I might share one of my favorite shots of the night.

This, my friends, is why Zoltan is probably one of my favorite people to shoot on the stage. He’s always lookin’ out for me and works it.

This past Friday night, we (Machinima) held our third annual Inside Gaming Awards at the Music Box in Hollywood, CA, sponsored by Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Our Gamers’ Choice Award this year was sponsored by Verizon. Porter Robinson was our guest DJ.

Oh live production. Some last-minute emergencies came up and I unexpectedly got thrown in to a 12-hour production day/night. This, of course, wasn’t going to stop me from looking good while handling a few firedrills with grace. It wasn’t exactly what I originally had in mind for my night, but the way things went, I’m not going to complain. I still had an amazing night, just in a different way.

I was in charge of that live Twitter ticker, some of the lower-thirds, and helping the lovely Jes V with the check-ins from the Social Stage. The amount of screens that we all had to pay attention to made me feel like I was working at a space station. It was definitely the biggest production I’ve had to work for Machinima.

While running the social aspect of everything, and with the help of our wonderful fans, friends, directors, partners, colleagues, etc… we managed to get #IGAs the top trending topic WORLDWIDE… and all organically (and if you know anything about social media, you know that this isn’t an easy thing to do)!

So a HUGE thanks goes out to each and every one of you who made that happen. It was a great little parting gift for a “social media queen” during her final days with the company. This week is my last week with Machinima before I take a vacation, then begin my new job. I’ll say farewell to you for now, but trust me, this most definitely isn’t goodbye!

In 2009, Philip Debevoise invited me Machinima’s first annual Inside Gaming Awards. I was invited as a client/business partner (Disney) and brought along two of my friends who I knew wanted new jobs: Elissa and Ricky… who would both eventually end up hired into the company.

In 2010, I attended the second annual Inside Gaming Awards as a new recruit. They happened the night after my final day at Disney and I was toasting with Philip on a new beginning.

Now here we are at 2011 with the third annual Inside Gaming Awards. Originally, I was going to be attending as a full-on employee… but I will also actually be toasting my departure from the company.

As some of you might have heard through the grapevine, I recently turned in my resignation for Machinima.com. My last day is next Friday, the 16th… and I will be ringing in the new year by starting a new adventure with some old friends/colleagues at a social media/creative company called theAudience working with some phenomenal clients that I used to only dream of working with when I was younger.

Oh yeah… and, with theAudience, I’m returning to music.

Thank you to everyone for their support, and although I expect some fans to discontinue following me because of this, I hope the majority of you will stick around… especially if you’re a fan of a variety of genres of music. Exciting things are coming in 2012…

It’s slightly strange to me to think that, two years ago, I attended the IGA’s as a client/business partner. Last year, I attended as a new recruit. This year, I’ll be attending as a fulltime employee there to take care of some business.

If you are unfamiliar with the IGA’s, this is Machinima‘s annual video game awards show for gamers, by gamers. The event will be held on December 9th and yes, we will be live streaming all the things!

So as a lot of you know, last Friday I participated in Machinima‘s 15-Day Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 live stream. During one of my rounds, our Community Manager in the UK Ken Burton joined in on the fun… and posted a video about it the day after.

Well, apparently this video brought a bit of controversy with it. I’ve actually been meaning to address this a little more thoroughly sooner, but ya know, things have been quite busy in our company this season. Anyway, so Ken posted this video about one of his matches with me where he was determined to beat “a girl’s (mine)” score and failed:

Shortly after the video went live, apparently he got a message accusing him of being sexist and from my end, I had people commenting telling me he was “patronizing” about me as if I hadn’t already seen the video as if I hadn’t had the slightest clue about it (FYI: He sent it to me directly as soon as it went up).

I’m going to make this short. Basically, Ken and I don’t really know each other well at all. We work for the same company and we’ve exchanged a few business emails… but in my small exchange with him, he’s been incredibly polite. Did I find his commentary sexist? Not at all. If anything, I found it hilarious. It’s friendly banter. We had fun– which is what you’re supposed to have when playing a video game.

Do I think it’s silly that guys (in general, not talking about Ken here) can take games a little too seriously and make a fuss about girls playing? Sure I do. But that’s their problem– not mine. If they want to waste their energy pissed off about something so trivial and soak in their ignorance, let ‘em. I’d rather spend my energy having fun and living life.

We Machinima kids have lost our minds again. In celebration of the release of Modern Warfare 3, as well as celebrating our 1-year anniversary of livestreaming, we’ll be doing a 15-day marathon for MW3 starting Monday, November 7th at 9pm (PST).
